A Schmorgashborg

Really, I just wanted to say schmorgashborg. Such a fun word. Schmorgashborg, schmorgashborg, schmorgashborg. Repeat after me, schmorgashborg.......of  course  I have not a monkey ass clue how to spell it.

Granny (Kevin's grandma) has been given 48-72 hours left from hospice. Her legs have turned purple from no circulation. We jump every time the phone rings now. Kevin is a bit of a wreck right now. Some extra prayers and thoughts this way are much appreciated.

Last night I went to a Body Shop party (Hi Erin!!! Everyone say hi Erin!! Start waving like a dork!) It was so much fun. We got a mini spa treatment done to our feet and man are my tootsies nice and soft today. In fact I enjoyed the party so much I am contemplating becoming a consultant and booking my own shows to make some extra $$. I mean who doesn't love The Body Shop's products?!?! Do you know anyone  (or are you) who is a Body Shop consultant? Do they enjoy it? Make enough money? Let me know. Also, I would get my own Body Shop website and can sell their products and make a commission. You guys, instead of going to the mall to purchase your Body Shop items, could just order them off of me and they'd be shipped to you. What do you think? Sound like a good idea?

Everyday Kindness updates! It's going well....surprisingly. By making myself consciously do acts of kindness everyday I am finding that I have just a bit more patience and the grumpiness I'm so used to being surrounded by is less. Go figure!

Everyday Kindness #6: Over the weekend I had to go grocery shopping. (I abhor grocery shopping!) While in line with my $150 worth of groceries I noticed the man behind me had only a case of pop and some bread. When it came my turn to put my groceries on the belt and pay, I decided to let the man behind me go first. The surprised look on his face was well worth the act.

Everyday Kindness #7: I didn't harp on my husband. Even when he placed all his dishes in the sink and didn't put them in the dishwasher. He had a bad day at work. He was going to have to make a trip to basically say goodbye to his Granny. He didn't need to hear me bitch about something. He needed a break, even if it was a small one.

Everyday Kindness #11: For work we don't have a parking lot. My office is smack dab in the middle of a parking nightmare city. So, I park in a parking structure everyday and walk to work. In the mornings, trying to get into the structure can be a pain, especially if you are during left into the entrance. Us right turning entrance folks usually just keep moving and ignore everyone lined up to turn left. Sometimes it can take 5 or so minutes until someone gets a chance to make a south paw turn. Today, even though I turn right, I paused and let a left turner go ahead of me. Granted she did not give me that driver wake for thank-you and I wanted to teach her some manners when I parked next to her, but what do I know. She could have been running late or had a bad morning. Time for me to learn not to be so damn judgmental while I am at it, eh?!

Anyone else doing the Everyday Kindness? How is it going? Care to share some of your acts in the comments section?

Everyone have a schmorgashborg of a weekend. Tonight we have Ken's bowling fund raiser for his ice hockey team. Which might I add they came in FIRST place for their division!!!! Go, go! Go Ken's team! You rock! You know it! (Just a brief FYI, I'm doing the Shopping Cart as I chant in my head for the hockey team. I am officially a dork.) See you on Fun Monday and I just realized I have never shown picks of my upstairs redesigns rooms in the new house, so hopefully I will get to that soon.

Peace out mah peeps. Word to your mother.

Good on you for the kindnesses! It really does get to be just a habit and before you know it, you forget to keep track!

I will keep your hubby and his family and all in my prayers.

It irks me when people dont do the driver thank you wave.

Yea, I think you got a double act of kindness on #11 for not educating that bitch that didn't do the driver thank-you wave.
All great acts! I enjoy saying schmorgashborg too! So I totally enjoyed this post!!
My thoughts are with your hubs and his family.

Way to go Ken and his team!!!
Have a hunky dorky weekend!

You're making all those kind acts sound easy.

Your hubby and all your family are in my thoughts tonight, stay strong.

I like your everyday kindnesses..they are wonderful.

I have never heard of Body Shop consultants. I would sign up to do that..and I would order stuff from you!! I love their stuff.

These are great acts. I am very impressed. And the world is just a little kinder today. Well done!

I haven't heard of Body Shop consultants either? Is this new? Mary Kay or Southen Living at Home? Yes. Body Shop? That's a new one.

I love the word Schmorgashborg, too. It rolls off the tongue & tickles, doesn't it.

Sorry about Granny. I hope it's quick & painless for her.

Oh, and on a totally different topic, do you LOVE typepad? I'm thinking about making the switch.

I think my kindness just happened...I actually got to come over here to type a bit (my reader's been messing up my subscribed feeds - real pain in the butt - :P LOL) Keep up that schmorgashborg spirit! Maybe someone else will catch it...and someone else...and someone else...and... :)

YAY! I <3 blog shout outs!!! It was great seeing you the other night!!! You know, I was planning on hosting a party... but if you are serious about consulting, I can wait and have you be my consultant. :)

hooooo boy. I know I did something. hmmmmmm....

I hope granmda passes quickly - such a trauma for everyone to be in pain waiting.

God bless you all ...

Look at you....all "Paying it Forward" and doing your part to save the world! I may need to try this....though it goes against my very nature and I am certain it will be incredibly difficult for me!

I will pray for your husband and his grandmother!
